Vote for Teen Challenge Tasmania

  • 90 St John Street Launceston TAS 7250 Australia (map)

Help us win $25,000 to support young Tasmanians through safe spaces, mentoring, food, connection and hope.

We’ve been nominated 💚

Teen Challenge Tasmania has been nominated for the MyState Foundation Community Choice Award, giving us the opportunity to receive a one-off $25,000 grant to support young Tasmanians.

The winner is decided by public vote, which means we need our community to stand with us.

Voting is open from 22 June until 5pm, 29 June 2026, with one vote per person. Votes are cast through the MyState website.

Please take a moment to vote for Teen Challenge Tasmania and then share the link with your family, friends, workplace, church, school community and networks.

Why your vote matters

A vote for Teen Challenge Tasmania is a vote for young people who need safety, connection, encouragement and practical support.

Across Tasmania, many young people are navigating complex challenges; disconnection, family instability, school pressure, loneliness, addiction in the home, learning difficulties and the need for safe adults who will consistently show up.

Teen Challenge Tasmania responds through a connected model of support. We do not see our programs as separate projects competing for attention. They are all part of one broader mission: bringing hope and practical support to young Tasmanians.

If we receive the $25,000 grant, it will help us continue strengthening programs that meet young people where they are and walk alongside them over time.

What your vote supports

Our Place

A safe after-school space for young people in the Launceston CBD.

Our Place gives students somewhere safe and welcoming to go while waiting for buses or needing a calm place after school. Young people can come in from the cold, have a snack or milkshake, play a game, talk with trusted adults, and experience a sense of belonging.

It is simple, practical and deeply needed.

Your vote helps support safe spaces where young people are noticed, welcomed and cared for.

Connections Mentoring

One young person. One mentor. One hour a week. Real connection.

Connections Mentoring matches trained, screened volunteer mentors with young people who benefit from a steady, encouraging adult in their corner.

Mentoring may look like conversation, games, walking around the school grounds, helping a young person build confidence, or simply showing up consistently when life feels uncertain.

Your vote helps support the recruitment, training and matching of mentors for vulnerable young Tasmanians.

Hope Café

Food with purpose. Practical support with impact.

Hope Café provides catering and practical food support while also contributing to the wider mission of Teen Challenge Tasmania.

Whether it is catering community events, providing food that supports our programs, or helping create pathways for young people, Hope Café is part of our broader commitment to practical care.

Your vote helps us continue using food as a point of connection, dignity and support.

Brain School Tasmania

Supporting learning, confidence and re-engagement with education.

Brain School Tasmania uses the Arrowsmith Program to support students with learning difficulties by strengthening cognitive capacities that impact learning, confidence and engagement.

For some young people, learning has become a place of frustration or shame. Brain School helps students rebuild confidence and move toward greater independence.

Your vote helps us continue supporting young people who need a different pathway to learning.

#NotEvenOnce

Prevention education for students, families, schools and communities.

#NotEvenOnce provides alcohol and other drug prevention education, helping young people understand risk, decision-making, addiction and resilience.

The program has reached students across Tasmania and beyond, equipping young people with knowledge before crisis occurs.

Your vote helps us keep investing in prevention, education and early intervention.
