The Classics - Morning Movie and Lunch Seniors Connect

  • 90 St John Street Launceston TAS 7250 Australia (map)

Remember what going to the movies used to be like? You’d watch a morning movie, have a tasty bite to eat and catch up with friends at the same time? Weren’t those Classic movies just so….. well Classic?

We’re turning back time and inviting The Classics (all of those young at heart) to join us on Tuesday mornings for a Classic Oldie but a Goodie at 10.30am and slip back into yesteryear when movies were really something. Then enjoy the company of other Classics and chat away over a lunch of Soup, Sandwich and a Hot Drink prepared by our young people learning hospitality in our Hope Cafe.

Cost $16 per person

The movies will be shown in The Upper Room, our restored Art Deco Theatrette once owned and built by the Gas Company and used for Cooking demonstrations by none other than Audrey Dobson.

We’re thinking great classics like North by Northwest, Citizen Kane, Rear Window, Vertigo, Dial M for Murder, To Catch a Thief, Strangers on a Train to name a few, but we’re open to suggestions from The Classics (you) so tell us your favourites you’d love to see.

Grab a friend or several and join us on a Tuesday. Give us a call on 0475 628 735 to book your place.

Please note these will be held upstairs, we do not have a lift in our Heritage listed building, however for those with mobility challenges we do have an evacuchair which can help navigate the stairs for some people. The upstairs facilities would not be accessible by someone with the heavy electric wheelchairs. Please talk with us to discuss your needs.
