Seeing the Impact: Our 2025 Annual Report Is Now Available
Behind every number is a name. Behind every statistic is a story.
Over the past year, Teen Challenge Tasmania has had the privilege of supporting nearly 20,000 young people across our programs. Each one with their own challenges, their own potential and their own journey forward.
Our 2025 Annual Report is now available, and it offers a window into that impact, what’s happening on the ground, the lives being shaped and the growing need for support in our communities.
A Snapshot of the Year
Across Tasmania and beyond, young people are navigating increasing complexity, social pressures, anxiety, substance exposure, disengagement from education and uncertainty about the future.
In the middle of this, we’ve seen meaningful progress.
Connections Mentoring has continued to walk alongside young people in schools; building trust, setting goals and creating stability where it’s often lacking.
NotEvenOnce Projects has reached thousands of students with evidence-based vaping and drug and alcohol education; equipping them with knowledge before critical decisions are made.
Brain School Tasmania (Arrowsmith Program) has supported students facing learning challenges, helping unlock cognitive capacity and rebuild confidence.
Hope Costumes & Thrift Store has provided a place for young people to gain real work experience, often taking their first steps toward employment.
Our Place, our after-school safe space, has become a consistent point of connection for students needing somewhere safe, warm and supportive while waiting for buses in the CBD.
These are not isolated programs, they are part of a connected approach to prevention, early intervention, and long-term support.
Stories That Stay With You
The report shares stories that reflect what this work really looks like.
A young person who began volunteering in our thrift store, struggling with social anxiety, later stepping into employment and further study after targeted support.
A mentor who has walked alongside members of the same family over eight years, through homelessness, loss, and instability, now celebrating stability, employment and new life with the next generation.
Students who once avoided classrooms now engaging again, gaining confidence not just in learning, but in everyday life.
These stories don’t happen quickly. They are the result of consistent presence, relational support and programs that work together over time.
More Than a Building
This year also highlights the role of our Hope Hub, a central space where so much of this work happens.
It’s more than a building. It’s a place where young people are known, where conversations happen, where confidence grows and where pathways begin.
Maintaining and strengthening this foundation is critical to reaching even more young people in the years ahead.
Why This Matters
The need is not decreasing.
If anything, the stories in this report point to a growing demand for early, consistent and relational support. More young people are looking for safe spaces, trusted adults and practical pathways forward.
Our response is to continue showing up, through mentoring, education, skills development and connection.
But we don’t do this alone.
