We need people power!

Teen Challenge Tasmania is entering a new season of sowing into the community, with an exciting vision for brand new ministries. We have just purchased a bricks-and-mortar home (read more about that HERE) and God is going before us, opening up new opportunities.

But Tanya is only one person!

If you know Teen Challenge Tasmania director Tanya Cavanagh, you’ll know her to be a high capacity, get-things-done person. But with the scope of the projects ahead, she has acknowledged that the organisation’s greatest need is for people power. We need an army of people passionate about helping others, with values that align with Teen Challenge.

What does it mean to volunteer with Teen Challenge?

The wonderful thing about volunteering with Teen Challenge is that whatever your time capacity, we will gratefully receive it! From someone to help train mentors, or to weed our back carpark once a month, to someone who can pick up donations for the store, administration support or do bread runs once a fortnight.

Tell us your capacity, your interests and your passions, and we’ll find a place for you.

All our volunteers tell us that they gain so much value out of helping. You will be part of a great and diverse team, under the guidance of a leadership that truly cares about you.

If you have any spare time (literally, any!), please reach out to us by emailing info@teenchallengetasmania.org or calling Tanya on 0412 300 850.

Are you of pre-pension age, needing to volunteer for unemployment payments?

Teen Challenge is registered with Centrelink as a voluntary organisation, and we would love to have you on board! We love people like you, people with life experience who are not afraid of having a go. Some of our most engaged volunteers are in the 60+ age bracket, and they contribute so much to our workplace culture. Not only that, they report to us a sense of fulfilment knowing they are part of a bigger cause, making a difference in their community.

Interested? Drop us an email at info@teenchallengetasmania.org or call Tanya on 0412 300 850.

Store manager (paid role, part-time, approx 32.5-35 hrs per week)

We’re looking for someone to manage our thriving Hope Thrift store. The lovely Elodie, who is well known at the store, is entering a new phase in her life as a first-time mum, so we need to make some changes.

The successful applicant will have values that strongly align with those of Teen Challenge, and experience in retail and management. They will be driven, able to work with others, flexible and attuned to current trends. This role is so much more than straight retail, however. The successful applicant will be compassionate and caring, with an ability to mentor and encourage the all-volunteer workforce towards improvement on a personal and professional level.

To apply, please email tanya@teenchallengetasmania.org with a one-page covering letter addressing the above criteria and your CV, including a referee and any relevant reference letters.
