Ulverstone Not Even Once Community Drug Prevention Seminar

  • Gnomon Pavilion - Wharf District Wharf Rd Ulverstone, TAS, 7315 Australia (map)

Teen Challenge Tasmania’s “Not Even Once” Prevention Projects are presenting parent, teacher and community education evenings to compliment our delivery of seminars in North Tassie Schools.

Firstly, Teen Challenge is a global organisation in 109 countries with 1200 centres around the world.  Teen Challenge are specialists in Drug and Alcohol Demand Reduction and Rehabilitation and have been operating for over 57 years very successfully.  Nationally, there are Teen Challenge centres in every state, excepting NT and is being established here in Tasmania.

Teen Challenge have helped thousands of Australians break free from the grips of their devastating addiction and rebuilding families. Therefore working at the coalface everyday, there is much, valuable first hand experience, to offer real life information to those that are concerned or interested.

We are extremely passionate about turning young people away from the top of the cliff leading to addiction and believe education is the key.

The evening seminars will be a deeper immersion than the schools version. The aim is to provide parents, teachers and community members with real tools to support kids and help create an environment in which the choice to not use drugs, is a very real and acceptable option within our relationships, families, schools and communities.

The seminar will include:

What are the real effects drugs such as Marijuana, Ecstacy, ICE etc have on peoples bodies and brains?

Why do people use drugs and alcohol?

Are there underlying issues you should be aware of?

Are there signs you can observe?

Are there strategies you can take?

and much more
