Join our training session for new and prospective mentors in the Connections Mentoring Program. Learn how to make a difference in the life of a young person — no experience required.
Event Description:
Are you ready to step into a young person’s life with compassion, consistency and hope?
Join us for our next Connections Mentoring Training Session — the first step to becoming a mentor with Teen Challenge Tasmania.
This interactive and practical 2 day training will equip you with the tools, understanding and support you need to confidently begin your mentoring journey. You’ll learn:
The heart and purpose behind the Connections Mentoring Program
What mentoring is — and what it isn’t
Communication strategies and boundary-setting
How to build trust with young people
Mental health & bullying awareness
Strength-based support
Child safety and reporting protocols
Whether you're just curious or ready to sign up, this training will help you explore the opportunity and get started.

A heart for young people
A notebook or journal
Willingness to listen, learn and grow
Who Can Attend:
Adults aged 18+
Those interested in becoming a mentor
Existing mentors refreshing their skills
Church and community members wanting to support local youth
Cost:
$129 – registration essential to assist with catering and materials. If you meet qualification requirements and continue to become a mentor in our program $75 will be returned to you (ubless you wish to donate it). If you are experiencing financial hardship, don’t let that be a barrier, please speak with us
